At A.D.O.R.E Children's Home, we believe that every referral is more than a process, it's the beginning of a journey. A journey where a child or young person is welcomed into a space built on safety, compassion and opportunity.

We know that the decision to place a child in residential care is never taken lightly. That's why we approach every referral with the utmost care, ensuring that placement decisions are thoughtful, well-matched and tailored to the child's individual needs. Once a referral is received, our Home Manager will personally reach out to begin a conversation, not just about logistics but about the child's story, strengths and aspirations.

We understand that moving into a residential setting can feel unfamiliar and even overwhelming. To support a smooth and respectful transition, we aim to meet with the young person, their family (where appropriate) and the placing social worker before the placement begins. These meetings help us build trust, understand the child's background and co-create a plan that feels safe and empowering.

However, we also recognise that life doesn't always follow a planned path. In urgent situations, we are equipped to respond to emergency placements with professionalism, sensitivity and a readiness to provide immediate care and stability.

Our team is experienced, empathetic and committed to making every child feel seen, heard and supported from day one. Whether the referral is planned or urgent, our priority remains the same: to offer a nurturing environment where healing and growth can begin.
